BICSI History

BICSI was founded as a non-profit organization by a small group of people in 1973 looking to improve the tools and techniques associated with the telecommunications industry.  From there, BICSI has grown to include architects, manufacturers, and suppliers to the building cabling industry.  In 1991 BICSI moved to its current headquarters in Tampa, FL.  For more information on BICSI see the link below.

BICSI was founded in 1974 to serve the telephone company building industry consultants (BICs) who are responsible for the design and installation of telecommunications wiring solutions in commercial, industrial, retail, and multifamily buildings.  The association has expanded over the years as technologies have changed and broadened to include all aspects of communications, life safety and automation technologies.

CEDIA

The Customer Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) is a non-profit organization comprised of designers, installers, manufacturers, and industry affliates specializing in electronic systems for the home .  The focus of the industry association is to improve the quality, techniques, and equipment used in the home electronics market.  Home electronics are becoming more and more sophicated, however, there is little appreciation outside of the industry of this increasing complexity.  The Customer Electronic Design and Installation Association CEDIA) is dedicated to educating the public and improving the professionalism within the home electronics profession.
